A Scientific Language.

At the dawn of the 20th century the proto-Globalist/Imperialists were assembling in prestigious groups of learned men. Usually in some highfalutin capital city. Jan 17, 1901. The Delegation for the Adoption of an Auxiliary Language decides on behalf of humanity that a movement was to be created whose sole aim was to promote the idea of a world artificial language. The ‘problem’ needed to be scientifically studied. What was the problem?

A number of highfalutin school teachers from Europe and the US got together and failed to solve the problem in 1907. In a rare moment of insight they declared themselves incompetent. A minority persisted nonetheless. By the end of October, that perennial month of surprises, a modified form of Esperanto was decided upon as the global tongue. Nobody else on the planet was consulted. This updated Dr. Hopeful was to be called by the equally uninspiring name of, wait for it: Ido. Presumably short for idiotic.

A war broke out between the Orthodox Esperantists and the Idiots. Almost as if God himself were confounding these Nimrod-like Babelists Himself. The Europeans squablings did much to annoy the many American enthusiasts.

Then these 'learned' men wondered if they could hijack an already popular language and add a few ‘improvements’ to it. However many people speak a tongue you are always doomed to failure by the larger majority you have pissed off who don’t. Their pointless squabbles possessed them fully. By what authority they claimed the right to impose their madness on humanity is never fully explained.

Added to this: Ido began to change. The various ins and outs of these ‘linguistic-perfectors’ is quite tiresome and not at all interesting.
